Terms and Conditions of use
Version 2026-10-15 · updated October 15, 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the CardPlaza website and services (https://cardplaza.net), provided by CardPlaza ("we", "CardPlaza" or the "Operator").
By signing up you declare that you have read and accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. In case of discrepancy, the Italian version prevails.
1. What CardPlaza is
CardPlaza is an online platform that lets individuals and stores publish listings to buy, sell and trade collectible cards (TCG: Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana), get in touch, and agree to meet in person in the same city.
Users are private individuals or professional operators (stores) and can join for free or choose a paid plan, as described below.
2. The role of CardPlaza
CardPlaza is a technical intermediary: it provides the tools to publish listings, search, chat and propose trades. It is not a party to the sale or trade contracts that users conclude with each other, it is neither seller nor buyer of the cards, it does not hold the cards and it neither collects nor transfers payments between users: payment and delivery happen directly between the parties, normally in person.
We do not check in advance the listings, the identity of private users, or the authenticity, originality, language, condition or ownership of cards, nor do we guarantee that a proposal will go through. Each user is responsible for the content they publish and the negotiations they conduct.
A store on the Store plan may be verified by the Operator through the checks described in the dedicated section; this does not make CardPlaza a guarantor of its sales.
3. Account and requirements
- To sign up you must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity. You declare this at sign-up; if we find otherwise we may close the account.
- Each person may have only one account. If you act for a business, you declare that you have the power to bind it.
- Provide truthful data and keep it up to date. Your username is public and must not imitate other people or brands or be offensive.
- Keep your credentials safe. You are responsible for what happens with your account: tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication or a passkey.
- You can close your account at any time from Settings. On closure, what is stated in the Privacy notice applies.
4. Listings and content
When you publish a listing or other content (descriptions, biography, messages, reviews, store images) you grant us a non-exclusive, free licence, limited to the duration of the service, to display and store it on the platform. You remain the owner of your content and are responsible for its lawfulness.
You must:
- describe the card truthfully (game, edition, language, condition, quantity) and state a real price;
- sell only cards you are lawfully entitled to sell;
- clearly declare if a card is a proxy, a reproduction, an unofficial or rebuilt card;
- for decks and lots, state the contents correctly; the card list, when present, must match what you will sell.
It is forbidden to publish or do:
- stolen cards, counterfeits passed off as originals, or cards of unlawful origin;
- unlawful, offensive, discriminatory or threatening content, content that infringes third-party rights or others' privacy, or adult material;
- misleading listings, bait pricing, duplicate listings to get around limits, or using messages for spam and unsolicited advertising;
- scam attempts, attempts to obtain unagreed advance payment, to bypass security systems, to harvest user data or to access the service without authorization;
- false, swapped or bought reviews, or reviews left under the threat of another review.
The free plan allows up to 50 active listings at the same time. Decks and lots are reserved for the Pro and Store plans. Creating "Find a table" tables (games with a day, time and place) is also reserved for the Pro and Store plans, while joining other people's tables is possible with any account; a table's place and time are public, so choose a venue or a shop rather than your home.
We may remove or hide listings and content that breach these Terms or the law, following the procedure described in the “Moderation and reports” section.
5. Negotiations, trades and in-person meetings
Purchase or trade proposals sent from the chat or the cart are not binding until the other party accepts them; when a proposal is accepted, the parties conclude between themselves the contract for the cards indicated and undertake to complete it. If several listings are in the same cart, the proposal is accepted or declined as a whole.
The transaction status on the platform (in progress, completed, cancelled, disputed) serves to organize the trade; delivery and payment take place outside the platform.
In-person meetings take place between strangers: choose public, busy places, tell someone, check the cards before paying and do not let yourself be rushed. Some stores join as a “safe spot” and offer their premises as a meeting place: the store hosts the meeting but is neither a guarantor of the trade nor a party to the negotiation.
If the counterparty does not respect what was agreed you can open a dispute on the transaction or report them: we will assess the information collected, but we do not guarantee an outcome nor replace the courts.
6. Find a table and table chats
"Find a table" lets Pro and Store users organise a game at a place and time of their choosing, and any registered user join it. We provide the tool, but we do not organise tables, are not a party to the meetings and are not responsible for what happens between participants: the precautions given for in-person meetings apply.
Whoever joins a table enters its group chat, visible only to the organiser and the participants. Each participant's public name and picture are visible to the other participants. The same rules of fair conduct as the rest of the site apply in the chat: no insults, harassment, spam or unlawful content. You can write until 12 hours after the table starts; after that the chat is read-only and is deleted 6 months after the start.
The organiser can delete messages in their table's chat and remove a participant, who can then no longer join that table. Any member can report a message to us and we may act as we would for any other content. Whoever leaves the table or is removed leaves the chat; messages already written stay visible to the other members until they are deleted.
7. Reviews
Reviews can be left only after a transaction marked as completed between the two parties, so that they are tied to a real trade. They must describe the experience honestly and must not contain insults, personal data or promotional content. We do not allow reviews written or bought in exchange for benefits.
We do not edit the content of reviews; we may remove them when they breach these Terms. Ratings, Aura Points and badges derive from activity actually carried out on the platform.
8. Free, Pro and Store plans
CardPlaza offers three plans: Free (no charge), Pro and Store (paid). Features, limits and prices of each plan are shown on the Premium page, which forms part of these Terms. Prices are in euros and include VAT where due; the price you pay is the one shown at the time of purchase.
Paid plans are activated when the payment service is available. Until then you can leave your notification request with the “Notify me” button: it is a simple reminder, with no obligation to buy.
When payment is active: the plan is bought as a monthly subscription and renews automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled; you can cancel at any time with the account tools or by writing to us, and you keep the plan until the end of the period already paid, after which the account returns to the Free plan. We do not refund periods already started, except as provided by the right of withdrawal and by law.
Before you complete the purchase we show you a summary (plan, price, duration, renewal) and the confirmation button clearly states the obligation to pay. After payment you receive a confirmation by email.
If the plan expires or you move to a lower plan, the following rules apply: listings already published are not deleted; those above the limit of the plan you move to (50 active listings for the Free plan) and, when moving to Free, decks and lots are paused, oldest first, and are no longer visible to other users. If you take a paid plan again they become active again; until your number of active listings is back within the limit you cannot publish new ones. Before the plan ends we notify you with a notification and an email 7 days and 1 day ahead, saying what you lose and how many listings will be paused; to choose which ones stay active you can pause the ones you can do without (active listings take priority). Placement advantages and features reserved for paid plans end at expiry.
9. Consumers' right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer (a natural person acting for purposes outside their trade or profession) and buy a paid plan at a distance, you have the right to withdraw within 14 days of concluding the contract, without giving a reason, under Articles 52 et seq. of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005). To withdraw, an unequivocal statement sent to legal@cardplaza.net is enough (you can use the model withdrawal form we provide on request).
Since the plan is a service you can ask to start immediately, if you expressly ask for it to be activated before the 14 days have passed, on withdrawal you will pay an amount proportionate to what you received up to the withdrawal. If the service has been fully performed with your express consent and acknowledgement that you lose the right of withdrawal, the right no longer applies (Art. 59 of the Consumer Code).
The right of withdrawal does not apply to those acting for their business (for example a store subscribing to the Store plan) and does not concern sales between users, which are not contracts with CardPlaza.
10. Early Adopter launch offer
During launch we offer the first 250 users with a verified email who claim it 6 months of the Pro plan at no cost, with a numbered “Early Adopter” badge; and the first 20 approved stores 12 months of the Store plan at no cost, with an “Early Adopter Store” badge.
The offer ends when places run out or when we decide to close it, is not cumulative or transferable, cannot be converted into money, and does not entail paid automatic renewals without your consent. At expiry the plan returns to Free; the badge stays on your profile. We may manually assign plans and badges, even outside the quota, at our discretion.
11. Stores and staff
The Store plan is reserved for professional operators with a real business. To open a store you must send a request with the business details (company name, VAT number, address, contacts) and a self-declaration of truthfulness; we verify them before approval and may ask for documents. The main store details are shown on its public page.
The owner can invite up to 3 staff members, each with their own account and with the permissions the owner chooses. The owner is responsible for actions taken by staff on behalf of the store (listings, chats, trades, events) and for the lawfulness of staff access to the data of users who interact with the store.
A store can organize events (tournaments, meetups) from the platform. The store is the sole organizer and responsible party: CardPlaza publishes the event and collects “I'm going” sign-ups, without selling tickets or collecting fees. If an event is cancelled by the store, the event page shows it as cancelled and the store is required to notify those who had signed up.
Reserved seats: in events with a maximum number of attendees, at least 20% of the seats are reserved for users with a Pro or Store plan in force; the store may raise the share up to 50% and chooses for how many hours from publication the reserve lasts (24, 48, 72). The reserve always ends 3 days before the event: seats not taken by then open to everyone. Those who have already signed up remain signed up even if they later change plan. It is an advantage of the paid plans.
If the Store plan expires or the owner moves to a different plan, the store is suspended: the public page, staff and reserved features are no longer available until the plan is reactivated. A store may also be suspended for breaches of these Terms.
For consumers who buy from a store, the protections of the Consumer Code apply against the store, which is the sole seller.
12. How we rank results and paid placement
For transparency, the main parameters that determine the order in which we show listings and sellers are:
- List of sellers of a card: first sellers on a paid plan (Pro and Store), ordered by ascending price, then sellers on the Free plan, ordered by ascending price. A paid plan is therefore a placement factor paid for by the seller, and results favoured by the plan are marked with the corresponding badge.
- City feed: each new listing from Pro and Store plans receives for 48 hours a “boost” that shows it prominently; after that period the listing returns to the normal order. The boost is an advantage included in the paid plan.
- Recent listings: a listing moves up among the most recent when it is published, when the seller increases its quantity or reactivates it from pause, at most once every 24 hours per listing; changing only the price or the note does not move it up. Moving up does not extend the paid plans' “boost”.
- City stores carousel: stores are shown in a random rotation, reshuffled every 60 minutes and the same for all visitors. A store's number of listings does not affect its position and the Store plan gives no priority over other stores; with a search active, only stores with at least one matching listing appear.
- Search: relevance to what you look for (card name, also in another language, game, condition, price range) and the chosen city, with the filters and sorting you select.
We do not sell specific positions to individual users: the only paid factor is the plan subscribed to, the same for everyone under equal conditions.
13. Professional and private sellers
On CardPlaza both private individuals and professionals can sell. A seller with the Store badge is a verified professional operator; other users are considered private unless the circumstances show they act for their business. As a rule, the Consumer Code protections for sales (legal guarantee of conformity, right of withdrawal for distance contracts) apply only if the seller is a professional and you are a consumer: if you buy from a private individual these protections do not apply.
A user who sells continuously and for profit may be regarded as a professional by law, with the related obligations (VAT number, information, guarantee, tax), and if so should use a store. This is their own obligation and CardPlaza cannot assume it.
14. Moderation and reports
If you find a listing, message, profile, review or transaction that you believe is unlawful or against the Terms, you can report it with the “Report” button on the site, giving the reason and details. Alternatively write to legal@cardplaza.net, which is also the single point of contact for users and authorities (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, “DSA”).
We examine reports diligently, in a non-arbitrary and objective manner. We may remove or hide content, limit features, suspend or close accounts, and report the facts to the authorities.
When we take a measure affecting your content or account, we send you without delay a notice stating: the decision, the facts and circumstances that led to it, the legal or contractual ground, whether the decision was also taken with automated means, and how to contest it.
You can contest the decision within six months by writing to legal@cardplaza.net with the reference you received: it will be reviewed by a person other than the one who took it, and we will reply with reasons for the outcome. You remain free to turn to an out-of-court dispute settlement body or to the courts.
Users can also block another user: a block prevents both from writing to each other and from proposing trades.
15. Intellectual property and trademarks
The site, its software, the CardPlaza brand, the graphics and the texts belong to the Operator or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these Terms.
Names, images and symbols of the cards and games belong to their respective owners (including Wizards of the Coast, The Pokémon Company, Konami, Bandai and Disney/Ravensburger). CardPlaza is an independent service, and is not affiliated with, sponsored or approved by the owners of those trademarks, which are mentioned only to identify the products being traded. If you own rights and believe content infringes them, write to legal@cardplaza.net with the information needed to identify it.
16. Liability and warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”: we work to ensure its continuity and security, but we do not guarantee the absence of interruptions or errors. We may change or suspend features, including for maintenance.
We are not liable for negotiations, trades and meetings between users, nor for resulting damages, nor for the cards delivered, payments between users, or users' content, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence and except where the law does not allow liability to be excluded or limited (including personal injury and, towards consumers, mandatory rights).
To the extent permitted by law, and towards users who are not consumers, our total liability to you is limited to the amounts paid to CardPlaza in the previous twelve months.
If you are a professional user, you undertake to hold us harmless from third-party claims arising from your breaches of these Terms or of the law.
17. Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close the account, following the procedure described in “Moderation and reports”, in case of serious or repeated breach of the Terms, fraudulent use, risk to users' safety or request from authorities. If a paid plan is still active and you have not committed breaches, we refund the unused period.
You can close the account at any time. Provisions that by their nature must survive closure (intellectual property, liability, governing law) remain in force.
18. Changes to the Terms
We may change these Terms for legitimate reasons, for example new features, new rules or security needs. We give you adequate notice (normally at least 15 days) by a notice on the site or by email. If the changes are substantial we ask you to accept the new version at your next sign-in; if you do not accept you can close the account and, for paid plans, cancel without penalty. The version number and date are shown at the top.
19. Governing law, jurisdiction and dispute resolution
The Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
For disputes with consumers, the court of the consumer's place of residence or domicile has exclusive jurisdiction (Art. 66-bis of the Consumer Code). For all other disputes the court identified by law has jurisdiction.
Before taking legal action we invite you to write to legal@cardplaza.net: we will try to settle the matter amicably. Consumers may also turn to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body listed in the national registers; the EU ODR platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025.
